Trisha is following the footsteps of Asin, Genelia D’Souza and Shriya Saran into Bollywood. She is is all set to make her Bollywood debut opposite Akshay Kumar and says she shouldn’t be seen as competing with Pretty Asin.

“Some people are spreading rumours that my Hindi film effort is to keep Asin in check. They want to portray me as her competitor. I neither wanted frantically to do a Hindi film nor do I treat Asin as my competitor.

All I’m concerned about is the films I’m starring in; I hardly have the time to check and monitor others’ career,” said Trisha.


Whatever it is, Asin has proved her luck in Bollywood, she is the Filmfare’s Best Sensational Debut (Female) for the film Ghajini, she is becoming favorite bollywood dream girl. Trisha is far behind.

Kollywood Actress Trisha moves to bollywood pairing with Akshay Kumar

Trisha one of the top actress in south Indian cinema has signed a film opposite the handsome hunk ‘Khiladi’ Akshay Kumar.

This film tentatively titled Khatta Meeta will be directed by Priyadarshan, who had introduced Trisha seven years back with Lesa Lesa in Tamil.

The shooting will start from November 2009 and Akshay Kumar is producing the film under his Hari Om banner in association with Baba films.

Trisha had a long innings in Tamil and has been featured opposite all top heroes except seniors like Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan.

In Telugu, she is one of the most saleable actors who have done films with all young guns including megastar Chiranjeevi.

About her Hindi entry, Trisha says: “A lot of offers were coming my way, but I was waiting for the right film and I could not say ‘No’ to Priyan who is my mentor of sorts. I respect him as a film maker and he is also a good family friend. I don’t intend to move to Bollywood, but is definitely game to give it a try”.

However, a source close to the actress says that she has signed a three-film deal with Akshay Kumar’s Hari Om production company.

It is also said that Trisha was the personal choice of the actor who saw a DVD of her Telugu and Tamil films and he confirmed her as his heroine.

Lokesh Bali from Mumbai will be personally taking care of Trisha’s grooming and publicity in Mumbai media. The buzz is that she has a very good role with equal footage with the hero and the actress will be completing her four assignments in South before taking the big leap to Bollywood.

What if her last three releases, Kuruvi, Abhiyum Naanum and Sarvvam haven’t been biggest hits to boast about? Trisha, the lissome lass, has the whole of this year tied up with interesting projects and is not ready to take up newer roles.

The actress, who made a splash for her good looks and charming demeanour in Sarvvam is currently pairing with Dhanush for Aadukalam, apart from playing Simbhu’s love in Gautham Menon’s Vinnaithaandi Varuvaya.

Apart from these, the actress is keeping herself equally busy in Tollywood, with a film each with Venkatesh and Gopichand. Due to these reasons, Trisha has not been taking up any of the offers coming up her way.



Despite the entry of many newer heroines, like Tamannaah, Trisha, who first acted as heroine in 2002, has been able to survive steadily. One of the biggest reasons that sources in the industry cite for it is the actress’ attitude towards the roles she does and the remuneration she seeks.

Realising that the One Crore demand can mark a career, the actress has been cautious in the money she asks for. Also, the actress has stuck purely with mainstream cinema, thus keeping her market value intact.

Today is a red letter day in Trisha’s life as her biggest icon AR Rahman has won two Oscars. Talking about Rahman, the actress is all smiles and speaks from the location of her Telugu film in Hyderabad.

Trisha told Sify.com: “I am not just another fan, but a crazy fan of Rahman. You won’t believe that sitting alone in my hotel room in Hyderabad, I was watching the Oscars from early morning and I started screaming, jumping and shouting when Rahman won the Oscar, that the hotel staff came and told me that I had to bring down the TV volume as guests were sleeping in adjecent rooms. It was truly embarrassing though I didn’t really care”.

Trisha has been a Rahman fan since school and confesses that it was partly due to him that she entered films and when Enakku 20 Unakku 18 offer came her way, she blindly signed on the dotted line as Rahman was the music director.

She also had the privilege of working in Mani Ratnam’s Ayitha Ezhuthu (Yuva in Hindi ) with Rahman’s music. And who can forget her beach song Hey Goodbye Nanba… or that hot disco number Yaakai Thiri….

And now her next film Gautham Menon’s Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya will have music by AR Rahman and she is all excited about it. Gushes Trisha: “ I have never been so emotional in my life and it was such an ecstatic moment when Rahman won the Oscars. I don’t think that I’ll be so happy, even if something like this happens in my life. I have made Gautham promise me that he will give me a seat next to his for the audio launch of Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya”.

A poignant melody with good singers on the lead. The melodious tune is sure to turn one of the best top-charting songs of this year.

6. Theme Music
Genre:Romance-Thriller
Extraordinary, Yuvan has the knack of spelling the best when it comes to theme music. The first part is carried through with Ceylon-rap song while it suddenly transcends into the other mood of spine-chilling thriller (more or less the same as ‘Billa’ signature tune)
As a whole, Sarvam has good tunes that will keep us entertained for sometime as there aren’t any melodies to heed over and over. Keep listening to the songs and it’s worth doing so.

Trisha is Dhanush's heroine in Vetrimaran's new film

It's official that Trisha is Dhanush's heroine in Vetrimaran's new film tentatively titled Aadu Kalam to be produced by Kathiresan.

The shoot of the film will start on February 16 in Madurai and surrounding areas.

In the film Trisha will play an Anglo- Indian girl who sort of reforms the rowdy hero and will be wearing skirt and blouse. Nalini Sriram will be her dress designer.

The film is said to be something totally different from the usual commercials and Dhanush has an author backed role. G.V Prakash is the music director.

I will be off to New Zealand for the song picturisation of Sarwam and then its two weeks for the dubbed Telugu version of Abhiyum Naanum in Hyderabad”.

SouthIndia Actress Trisha signed in Telugu film with Gopichand

Trisha has signed on the dotted line to be Gopichand's heroine in his new untitled film which will be directed by Siva of Shouryam fame.

The buzz is that, she signed this film for the highest ever salary that she has received so far. She has given bulk dates to the producer and a major portion of the film will be shot in Italy With this Trisha too joins the bandwagon of heroines like Ileana, Nayanthara and Anushka who has crossed the magical eight-digit fee.

When contacted Trisha refused to comment on her salary but says: "I signed this film as it has a great script and my role is very challenging, something that is very interesting".

Tamil hero Sathyaraj plays Gopichand's dad in the movie.

Producers G. Pilla Rao and Bhagavanlu are going to make this movie which is said to be an action entertainer in the line of Gopichand's earlier hits.

Shreya and Trisha are Pursuit of heroines for the film ‘Marmayogi’

Wow! The hot missy girls are finally shoring on for a big project. Pursuit of heroines for the film ‘Marmayogi’ started all the way soon much before the release of Dasavatharam. Hema Malini was the first one to be signed in for the project while the rumors about other heroines getting in where published.

But, Kamal Haasan had his hopes dashed with most of the leading heroines refusing his offer including Bollywood’s Kajol and Shriya Charan. Finally, Trisha was roped into the project signing her call sheet for continuous 100 days and Shriya has confirmed.

Trisha and Vijay in Kuruvi audio release on april 16th

Looks like the Kuruvi team has gone back on the decision about the movie’s audio release. Earlier, it was decided to release the movie straight to the audio selling outlets.

However, it is now learnt that a formal audio launch has been decided to be held by the producers on the 16th of April at the Little Flower Convent premises, Mount Road, Chennai.

The event is expected to be attended by the who’s who of the industry and if credible sources are to be believed, Local Administration Minister M.K. Stalin will preside over the audio release.
