According to "Variety" Frank Darabont has wrote the adaptation 
and will direct the drama pilot "The Walking Dead" for AMC. The project is based on the popular graphic novel, created by Robert Kirkman, that follows survivors of a zombie apocalypse. Led by a police officer this band of survivors travels the country in search of a safe home.
